Hilary was born in Torquay in Devon in the late 1970’s. While growing up her Mum ensured that she had the most spectacular bowl haircut that has ever been seen – a fact that Jeremy will not let her forget…. She is the oldest of four children and has grown up in the Newton Abbot area for most of her life, before leaving to go to Exeter University to achieve her teaching degree.
As a child she was a gymnastics fanatic and it seems like her entire formative years were spent doing the splits and learning how to flick-flak.
