Well, although I am writing this a year late (29th March 2013), we are going to be posting the entries on the correct dates to help with the familial timeline. It’s a bit weird, but now seems the right time. This time last year we were unbelievably lucky enough to be staying with my sister Susannah in Nairobi for the holiday of a lifetime. Hilary slogged and sweated away to pack up enough to support us all for two weeks in Africa, and the big day dawned. We were off to Africa.
We had fully intended to post diary entries when we were out there, but the internet was not as reliable and, quite frankly, we were having too much fun. We brought home thousands of pictures, films and memories however, and it seems like a missed opportunity not to document two of the most amazing weeks of our lives, experiencing things we will probably never do so again. So, a year late, but written on the equivalent date of our Easter holiday this year, this is the chronicle of our time in Africa. The intention is to write up each day as it happened and finish with a full fortnight – let’s see if we can keep up the pace.
