Tidying for the Queen.

It seems to have been ages since we last saw Andy and Leah (now with Freddie) so this weekend was a lovely chance to catch up on all the news from Sherbourne.  They came around and joined up with the Donaldson family and Gaz for a bit of social partying.  As often happens, the boys managed to sneak away for a short bit of exercise to the local hostelry where we caught up on man stuff (including Andy’s current work towards retaining his Olympic Gold medal in 2012, which all sounds very exciting) and when we got back the girls went for a walk with the children to the local park while we continued the man chat over a game of football – which Spurs duly lost, as predicted.

Anyway, Leah has always been our glam friend, and her and Hil setting off for a short walk down the park looked like something out of a catalogue.

No-one tell them their clothes clash with the fence....

The highlight of the weekend, however, was actually when everyone had gone home and the house was a bit of a bombshell.  I took Jamie and Ollie off to their swimming session as usual on Sunday evening and when I returned, the house was spotless.  I commented on this to Hil, and how impressive I thought her domestic skillage was.  What followed next was pure class.

Hilary explained that the reason it had been tidied so quickly was because she had played the game ‘I must tidy my bedroom because the Queen’s coming to visit’.  I pretty much started eating the carpet there and then.  Hil was a little put out and miffed, explaining that I was the weirdo for never having played the game.  ‘Everyone‘, she told me, played that game.  I could ask anyone, she added.

So I texted our glamour friend, Leah, (one of Hil’s best friends) who checked if I was asking some dodgy joke before confirming the fact that she’d never played that game and that Hil was, in fact, weird.  I’m still to find anyone else who plays that game, but please feel free to back Hil up and let us know if you too are that way inclined…!

Off to see the Queen?
